Reverse osmosis systems work according to the following principle: source water under pressure undergoes primary mechanical cleaning in a 5 micron filter, then it is directed to the main filter element - a reverse osmosis membrane - using a high-pressure pump. The membrane separates into permeate (purified water) and concentrate (discharge of water into the sewer). Under normal conditions, the yield of purified water is in the range of 50–85% of the initial water volume.
